I have always entered discounts, coupons, and voucher codes into my websites and blogs by hand. But for some time now I have been using the WordPress plugin WP Affiliate Coupons for this.
I have tested the plugin extensively and will introduce it to you in more detail below.
I will describe the special features and go into more detail about my experiences.
WP Affiliate Coupons — What are they?
WP Affiliate Coupons is a WordPress plugin for affiliates. It allows you to easily display discount codes, voucher codes, and other bargains on your affiliate website.
On the one hand, the plugin places great emphasis on simple and clear management of the individual offers. On the other hand, it ensures a visually attractive presentation of the individual discounts.
This plugin has a free version and a paid Pro version that offers even more functionality.
Features of WP Affiliate Coupons
The plugin comes with a lot of useful features, including the following:
- It allows you to create providers, especially online shops and other websites with which you are an affiliate. This means that you don’t have to re-enter all the data when you want a new discount and you can always use the right shop logo, for example.
- Of course, you can easily create individual coupons, i.e. offers. You can enter individual texts, specify the percentage discount, and more. Time control is also possible.
- The plugin offers various shortcodes that can be used to issue a coupon or a collection of coupons. The latter is possible, for example, based on provider, category, or type.
- You can also use a widget and have such coupons displayed in the sidebar, for example.
- WP Affiliate Coupons offers various ad templates that can also be customized. This allows you to display discounts or coupons in the way that best suits you.
- The plugin offers AMP support and is of course also responsive for mobile display.
- There are extensive settings that allow you to influence, for example, the sorting of the coupons.
The Pro version of the plugin offers some additional features, which I will discuss further below.
Settings and adjustments

The plugin backend in the admin consists of various sub-areas. The actual settings can be found under “Settings”. This is currently a small disadvantage.
Here you can first see an overview of the possible shortcodes, which I think is very good. This way you can quickly find the right shortcode.
In the next tab, you can enter the license code if you have purchased the Pro version.
The “General” tab offers many setting options. For example, you can control the sorting of the individual coupons and display them according to their end date, or not. The layout templates and styles are also selected here. The button, the code display, and other display options can also be adjusted. Last but not least, it is also possible to enter your own CSS code here.
Otherwise, you can of course create new coupons in the backend of the plugin. A form is displayed in which you can enter or select the data.
Here you can select the provider, upload an individual picture, enter the discount and discount code, set the time, and much more.
You can also sort the individual coupons into categories and coupon types. This is useful if you issue a lot of coupons on your website.
Free vs. Pro version

As already mentioned, in addition to the free version, which is already very usable, there is also a Pro version. This has some additional functions. These include:
- Statistics are collected under data protection regulations. For each coupon, you can see, for example, the views, clicks, and how often the discount code was copied.
- The Pro version includes a “Click to Reveal” function. Users have to click here first to see the discount code, which also leads to a click to the shop.
- It is also possible to integrate Google Analytics and Piwik to collect click statistics using these tools.
- You can create individual coupon subpages. This way you can create more content and go into more detail about the offer on the subpages.
- There are additional layout templates and more widgets to increase variety and choice.
- It is also possible to highlight individual coupons. For example, you can set one coupon apart from the others by color.
The additional functions, especially the statistics, are very useful if you work professionally as an affiliate. However, if you just want to display a few offers and discounts on the side, the free plugin version is sufficient.
The Pro version costs $29 for one website or $99 for up to 5 websites. This includes updates and support for one year. You can then extend for another year or cancel.
The prices are reasonable for the services offered. As a full-time affiliate who uses a lot of discounts, it is worth it. In my experience, the plugin increases your income.
My Experiences — Discounts and Coupons
I have created separate pages for discounts, vouchers, and bargains in my blogs. I have added all of these by hand so far. That was OK, but it doesn’t make maintenance so easy and the list isn’t particularly pretty. There is no tracking of clicks, for example.
Now I use this plugin on my board game blog, for example, and I’m very happy with it.
I have also tried different numbers of columns and different layouts, but I am happy with them for now. A little more choice in the layout templates would be nice, though.
I also like the very good setting options and how quickly you can create a new coupon once you have already created the provider.
The statistics help me to assess which coupons are well received and which are not. Overall, I now have much more control over it.
Conclusion on the WP Affiliate Coupons Plugin
The bottom line is that WP Affiliate Coupons is a very good plugin for discounts and vouchers. Affiliates who use WordPress should take a look at the free version. It is possible to earn more with it.
